Before I Finally Hang Up !!!

“HOW WELL HAVE YOU LIVED YOUR LIFE CAN BE JUDGED BY THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO ATTEND YOUR FUNERAL!!!” says My Dad - - - A statement so blunt…..so True and so very Eye – opening!!! Well this one statement led to loads of thoughts, in depth analyses, retrospection, discussion and finally a List – A List of things I would want Myself to say when I lay down on the Flower Bed…..A List of all those things that I would wish to believe to be True BEFORE I FINALLY HANG UP !!!!! A Bit pre-mature, or not my age, some would say for me to post such a philosophical post, but it gives an insight to what we all would want to do in the present so as to make our sunset – Bright !!! Many moons from now, just before we take our final breath, I hope, for our sake, that we are able to repeat the following ten headlines to ourselves, honestly. 1.  I followed my heart and intuition. Legendary Steve Jobs once said: “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living ...

Different Moulds !!!

Since the last Blog was on Childhood, I thought that the best way to carry it forward would be by posting something about friendship. Friends – Of all shapes, sizes, moods, attitudes, perceptions, pockets, ambitions and of course the most dangerous of them all – Brains ! Friends need not be necessarily of the same Mould. I mean they may be drastically different in their approach towards life, things, people and quite often of themselves too.. And this difference is what makes me categorize US (i.e me and my friends) into 3 categories as below - Let us call them -   A, B and C . All three have a fairly enviable education background. All are in their prime now (25 types). A   works for One of the biggest private limited companies in its segment and has plans of being listed soon. This company is one of few organized players in India's burgeoning retail market. A is one of the most extraordinary people that we would have ever met. Altho...

Woh Kagaz ki Kashti !!!!!

Hey guys…..an old post but with a lot more relevance today... This post is dedicated to the ever-so – wonderful childhood days which all of us would want to revisit. I am an avid fan of Jagjit Singh’s Ghazals and one of his soul rendering  ghazal is the inspiration for this post – We are all into our mid – twenties struggling to strengthen our footholds into our respective careers. Life has become a race and all of us are driving ourselves to unknown and unconquered destinations. In this maddening quest of Minting Money and climbing the socio – success ladder, we have conveniently forgotten the very basic necessities of Human Soul – ‘Inner Peace, Sanctity and Honesty ‘. When was the last time we have laughed our hearts out? When was the last time we did something honestly stupid and gave a damn to what the world thinks? When was the last time we cried because somebody else was not happy? When was the last time we were actually honest...

Work Hard at Working Smart!

Hey Guys.... Writing this article was a fun filled experience as it is so very much related to people of our generation.. People who have found a new jargon which sounds ultra cool - 'Work Smart - and Not Hard' while it becomes insanely difficult for us to differentiate amongst the two at most,if not all the times. The idea behind writing this particular piece was to try and make life a bit simpler than what it is at both work place as well as home by working hard at working smart...... “If it is to be, it’s up to me” Of course we need to look at what the point of either working hard or smart really is.  People who work hard and people who work smart have different measures of success. Those that work hard usually evaluate success based on inputs such as the number of hours they work and the number of tasks they accomplish in a day or in a week and ultimately seek a large paycheck. Typically hard work means something like 60 or 70 hours a w...
