A Decade Ends

Hey guys, Welcome to the Blogpage once again!!

With 2020 in sights, Let me Congratulate you all for surviving this Decade and also let me wish you all the Best for the Next One!!

A look at the last decade from someone who has also witnessed a Millennium,Century and Decades Change!!

1. Finally Got through the Education and started Earning!!!

Thank God for letting me off Dad and giving me an opportunity to pay EMIs!!

2. This decade let me come out of my Teens,

 Enter and Exit youth and here I am facing the Mid life crisis!!!

 Ahhhh.. A lot did happen over 3652 days!!

3. Got Married in this Decade....Well Let me not get you guys involved in my Stress!!

4. Dad turned a decade older too,

So did Mom,

Dad is ageing and its Visible,

With Mom...it is still 1987!!

5. Friends went to Whatsapp,

Colleagues on LinkedIn, 

World on Facebook,

Rest Instagram-med,

Trump Tweeted,

And Me....Still waiting for a Call Back!!

6. This decade saw the Rise of Modi,

Demonetization came,

GST arrived, 

Article 370 Conquered!!

Not being Intolerant or Ignorant, but Finally knew who and what Chankaya is all about!!

7. Won the World cup this Decade!!!

MS and that SIX at Wankhede is an Etched Memory, 

For someone who saw 2003 finals..it is an immense recovery,

Na Dada..Na Mahi, seeing GOD weep was the most emotional Discovery!

 8. Talking about Cricket, the God Retired this Decade,

The Man who burst my childhood finally came off his age,

The Desert Storm to the World cups to the Tennis Elbow to the MRF Bat,

Sir...You were the reason why the kids of the Nation say Aila!!

9. Internet arrived ....and did what it had to do!!!

From Books to Yahoo to Google,

From Orkut to Facebook to Instagram,

From In person to Snapchat, 

From being Logical to Tiktok!!

Well...From Vodafone ka Pug
To Rahman's Tune for Airtel to Mukesh Bhai's Jio,

From Ajee, Ojee, tum bhi suno jee..to 5G!!! Emotions ab Emojis jo ban gaye hai jee😅😆😆!!

10. Bollywood Changed!!

Stars were replaced by Actors,

Melodrama by Realism, 

Over the top by within the skin, 

Calender by Katappa, 

Rahul by the audience,

Prem by Rajashree,

And the Scale by the kingdom of Maheshmati!!!

 11. Delhi had its issues with Pollution..No time and place to breath,

Mumbai realized the need for Metro, no place to squeeze,

Kolkata has Didi..let's not say cheese,

Chennai lost Amma...A Filter Coffee Please,

Bangalore is worse when it comes to traffic,

Alas...people there are happy..coz happy hours is their fix!!

12. The decade belonged to the Women of India,

From Sania to Saina,

From Mary Kom to women Earning Dronacharya,

From Kareena to Deepika,

From Doctor Disha to Delhi's Nirbhaya!!

Alas....Even in this Decade, I am sorry..Coz I am a Man!!

13. The decade had a fetish for dates,

From meeting in person to online apps,

I got married in this very decade because I found my wife a lot kinder,

Trust me not trying to rue..But never knew there existed a Tinder!!

14. This decade saw a lot of newer leaderships,

USA had a businessman,

Pakistan a Cricketer,

England a Brexiter,

Russia ..the same Putin,

China...Xi Ximping,

India...well...I as you all also did Vote...so no Sarcasm here...as mentioned earlier...Midlife Crisis

15. The world changed this decade and so did we,

Gulf had Springs, 

South Africa had Water less days so did Argentina,

Russia hacked a US election,

We had our EVMs,

A Thackrey became a CM,

Britain wants/does not/wants... to not be a part of Europe,

China has a Tradewar,

Vidharbha is still without any Monsoon!!!

16. We..the 90s kids have also become parents this decade,

Congratulations to all those who are proud for being able to reproduce,

Glad to know the school fees...and further glad to know the comparisons that you do with your own school fees,

For Mumbaikars here, SSC, CBSE, ICSE are all the same, 

But we judge these boards based on the fees..Because Mumbaikars are supposed to be Lame!!

17. From being a Millennial to now being taken over by Gen Z,

Sorry No offence to you all..but we did what only we can,

Played outdoors and not on computers,

Had a 3 Rs Vada Pav and not a 15 Rs one,

Did not have a Google to seek every answers,

Mumma did that for us..and genuinely we got more than our answers,

We saw the Millennium change..not to our credit,

If ever u guys are stuck..we are there to sort it out for u...Because you are still to know your Debit!!

18. Became a Father of a Daughter this decade, 

Phew....her smile,her talks,herself became my 1st aid,

My respect for a female just rose beyond par,

Be it a female colleague, sister, friend, spouse,  maa and even my maid.

19. Got a few whites on the head and in the beard,

Initially thought it was too weird,

Realized over a period of time,

Worries about ageing is just making me be Tired!

20. We start the decade with an extra day,

366th day wont let us have have our own say,

Calendars will change so will the year, 

We will be still stuck in What ifs and What May,

Chuck it and ignore the year..lets try to love every moment and live every day.

The Decade might be changing...so is the year,

2019 has been tough but has made me a bit more mature,

With graying hair and a weak eyesight,

Wishing you all a Very Happy New Year!!!
