Birthday Boy....Part 1.

A Breezy, Rainy night and a Hot Cup of Coffee. Aarav, a 34 year old Mumbaikar is glazing at the red and yellow headlights of the traffic on the roads from his 11th floor balcony. The whisper of the breeze and the honking of the horns coupled with a soothing silence in his head had now been a routine sort of.

A Middle Management employee of a MNC, Aarav Shah is a Middle Class Mumbaikar. A smart, energetic Man with a zeal to make it Big, he is one of the usuals that one often finds in this Metropolis.

A Small Balcony Garden which is decorated with a old and shabby hanging lantern makes up for his daily routine of breathing the early morning Fresh Air and the late night Introspection, albeit always being interrupted by his toddler son Kush.

Today happens to be Much More Chaos though at the Shah Household. A few friends, fewer relatives, loads of Gujarati food and a loud chatter. Today happens to be his Birthday. And he still prefers to be aloof, glazing at those Honking Cars and as always in Some Thoughts.

Welcome to the World of Aarav!!

A sudden Thud on the balcony door and Aarav is bought back into the present. The Thud is from none other but his cousin Jay. With a Peg on his hand and enthusiasm as always, Jay has always been the Secret Pillar and the Encouragement that Aarav wanted, though their Egos never had this fact acknowledged. A relatively drunk Jay just barged into Aarav's silence with a typical "Yahaan Kya kar raha hai be Budhao....Happy Birthday bro!! Chal baahar, ek ek peg lagaate hai"

His loud tone was more than enough to bring in Aarav back to the reality. From glazing at the cars to now staring at Jay, Aarav with a momentary jolt was just awakened.although he did not really appreciate the botherance, he as always welcomed it with a compulsive smile. "Bas yaar aisehi, Chal chalte hai" and they leave to the main Hall of the house where the actual Stars of the story Dwell.
